The Prestigious Stone:

NPL 2024

The Nepal Premier League (NPL) trophy includes a stone from Kalapaththar, a famous viewpoint near Mount Everest. This stone was sourced to symbolize Nepal’s natural heritage and to promote conservation and tourism. It was transported by mountaineers Nima Sherpa and Mingma Sherpa. The trophy’s design reflects Mount Everest’s height, 8,848.86 meters, and it was crafted in Mumbai, India. While primarily a symbolic piece, the trophy aims to bring attention to Nepal’s landscapes and the role of cricket in promoting national pride.

Crafted in Mumbai, India, the trophy weighs about 3 kilograms and is made of standard metals. It will serve as a running trophy, with a replica awarded to the winning team. The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) emphasized the environmental and cultural symbolism of the trophy, aligning it with the broader goals of boosting tourism and showcasing Nepal on an international stage through cricket.
